Royal Mint, United Kingdom launched its biggest ever Sports Collection Coints set which features 29 different coins of 50p each for the 29 sports of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
 
For these  50p Sports Collection Coins for London 2012 Olympics, Royal Mint launched a competition in January 2009  inviting the British public to design a series of new 50p coins and it received thousands of excellent designs from all over the UK for these coins.
